Interested in the Devonshire Players?

The Devonshire Players are a group of internationally trained musicians who found each other at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music. Under the training of Laurie Smukler, Ira Weller, Julia Lichten and Peter Wiley we grew to love chamber music on a deeply profound level. Before forming The Devonshire Players we performed some of the major chamber music repertoire at SUNY Purchase and at off-site locations. We have joined together to bring our love of chamber music to you. The Devonshire Players perform both traditional and non-traditional works as a quartet, trio, duo or solo. Our goal is to make the music at your event memorable, beautiful and the easiest part of your planning process.

Educationally each musician actively teaches private lessons in their community. We hope to spread the joy of playing music to as many children as possible. Not only do these children learn to play an instrument but they learn discipline and dedication through regular practice.
